In an effort to keep local drivers informed of the latest traffic and road maintenance operations by the Road Commission, we have provided the following update for the week of September 30, 2024.  For further information call 269-381-3171 or visit RCKC website www.kalamazoocountyroads.com.

“This information is made available to assist motorists in planning for construction delays,” Joanna Johnson, Managing Director of the Road Commission said. “Motorists are reminded to be alert, slow down, stay informed, and be cautious when approaching a work zone. Remember, these projects signify progress in improving our infrastructure!”

Please note: This information is subject to change. Projects, road closures and timing can change from day to day, depending upon a number of factors, and traffic delays can develop in a matter of minutes due to weather conditions, emergency situations, etc.

 

Alamo Township

Road: D Avenue - 6th Street to Ravine Road
Current Status: Install concrete curb, culverts, milling and hot mix asphalt (HMA) paving week of 9/30.
Detour: None
Project Information: This project includes tree removal and trimming, drainage improvements, asphalt paving, and restoration.
Start Date: April 8, 2024
End Date: October 14, 2024

Road: 37th Street - T Avenue to S Avenue
Current Status: Additional tree work, drainage improvements, and gravel resurfacing week of 9/30.
Detour: None

Current Status: Drainage improvement week of 9/30.
Detour: Traffic will be maintained for this project using traffic regulators.

Road: Davis-Olmstead Drain - Olmstead Road to Olmstead Road
Current Status: HMA paving and restoration on Brookfield Avenue week of 9/30.
Detour: Brookfield Ave and Springfield Ave will be closed at alternate times during the project. The detour route is around the block on either
Greenfield Ave or Market St.
Project Information: This project includes culvert replacements at two road crossings in
addition to stream bank restoration.

End Date: October 25, 2024

 

Road: Drake Road - 1,635' south of Ravine Road to 245' south of Ravine Road
Current Status: Milling and paving complete, centerline fog seal and restoration week of 9/30.
