“This information is made available to assist motorists in planning for construction delays,” Travis Bartholomew, Managing Director of the Road Commission said. “Motorists are reminded to be alert, slow down, stay informed, and be cautious when approaching a work zone. Remember, these projects signify progress in improving our infrastructure!”

Please note: This information is subject to change. Projects, road closures and timing can change from day to day, depending upon a number of factors, and traffic delays can develop in a matter of minutes due to weather conditions, emergency situations, etc.

Road: 8th Street - G Avenue to Hart Drive
Current Status: Week of 9/1 milling and final grading.
Detour: Road Closed to Thru Traffic
Project Information: Gravel Pulverize, HMA Overlay, Drainage Improvements
Start Date: April 21, 2025
End Date: October 15, 2025

Road: 39th Street - ON Avenue to 3,168' north of ON Avenue, ON Avenue - 39th Street to 3,764' west of 42nd Street (CONTINGENCY PROJECT)
Current Status: Drainage improvements forthcoming.

Project Information: Gravel resurface and drainage improvements.
Start Date: June 23, 2025
End Date: October 15, 2025

Road: Stegar Avenue - Leigh Avenue to Fordham Avenue, Leigh Avenue - East Main Street to Fordham Avenue, Fordham Avenue - 260' west of Stegar Avenue to 699' east of Leigh Avenue.
Current Status: Week of 9/1, roadside restoration.
Detour: None
Project Information: Milling and paving new HMA base and surface, drainage improvements, and tree removal.
Start Date: June 23, 2025
End Date: October 15, 2025

Road: Q Avenue - 29th Street to 34th Street
Current Status: Mainline grading, paving, and restoration week of 9/1.
Detour: Q Avenue will be closed to through traffic during the project. The detour route is 29th Street, S Avenue, and 36th Street.
Project Information: This project includes tree clearing, crushing the existing asphalt to gravel-sized pieces and mixing with the existing gravel, widening of the shoulder, paving, and drainage improvements, including some ditching. 
Start Date: March 17, 2025
End Date: September 30, 2025

Road: Y Avenue - 3rd Street to 4th Street; 4th Street - YZ Avenue to Y Avenue; YZ Avenue - 4th Street to 5th Street; 5th Street - YZ Avenue to YZ Avenue, YZ Avenue - 5th Street to 6th Street
Current Status: Culvert installations, and drainage improvements forthcoming.
Detour: None
Project Information: Tree removal, drainage improvements, culvert replacements, and 4" of new gravel.
Start Date: June 23, 2025
